Not recommended. Misleading DLC.
I bought F1 25 Iconic Edition and also purchased the APXGP / F1 The Movie DLC, expecting to be able to use APXGP in the full Career Mode. That seems like a completely reasonable expectation: you buy the premium edition, you buy the APXGP-themed DLC, and you expect to get access to APXGP as a team.
But apparently, the DLC only gives access to limited scenarios, while the ability to use APXGP in Driver Career / My Team was tied to an old purchase deadline for the Iconic Edition. So you can buy the Iconic Edition now, buy the APXGP DLC, and still not be able to play as APXGP in Career Mode.
That is incredibly frustrating and feels like an artificial, misleading separation of content. The team exists in the game, the branding is all over the DLC, the content is being sold — but the most obvious mode where players would actually want to use APXGP is locked away.
What makes this even worse is the feeling that the customer is being punished for buying the game later. I did not buy a cheap key from some random place, I bought the Iconic Edition and the official APXGP DLC. And yet the game still treats one of the most interesting pieces of content as if it does not belong to me.
This is not just disappointing — it feels genuinely insulting. The whole point of APXGP for many players is not to play a few short scripted moments, but to build a career around that team, race full seasons, develop the car, and actually enjoy it as part of the main game. Locking that behind an expired deadline while still selling APXGP-branded content is a terrible decision. And the APXGP issue is only one part of a bigger problem.
It is already 2026, and the Career Mode still feels lifeless in so many ways. At the start of every race, after every race, during races, and even after finishing a whole season, the game constantly throws the same repetitive lines at you. The phrases are bland, predictable, and become boring extremely quickly. After a while, it no longer feels like a living Formula 1 world — it feels like a loop of recycled voice lines.
The same applies to the animations. They are always the same. The same podium-style reactions, the same garage scenes, the same awkward celebrations, the same emotionless transitions. Nothing feels fresh, personal, or connected to what actually happened in your season. You can have a dramatic title fight, a terrible race, a comeback drive, a dominant win, or a shocking failure — and the game still responds with the same generic presentation. This completely kills the atmosphere.
For a so-called Formula 1 simulator, the lack of atmosphere and soul is honestly shocking. Career Mode should make you feel like you are part of a team, part of a paddock, part of a real championship. Instead, everything feels flat and mechanical. There is no meaningful press interaction, no proper relationship with the media, no real conversations with your chief engineer, no sense that your results, rivalries, mistakes, or achievements actually matter outside the timing screen.
There should be interviews, pressure from the press, reactions from the team, more varied engineer communication, consequences, drama, and a sense of progression. Instead, the game gives you the same empty phrases and the same recycled scenes again and again. It is incredibly lazy for a yearly sports game that asks players to keep buying premium editions, DLC, and future content.
The problem is not just the amount of content. The real issue is that the store page and the name of the DLC create expectations that the product does not properly meet. If this DLC is only for a few scenarios, it should be made absolutely clear.
I was actually planning to keep supporting the game and was interested in buying future content, including the 2026 Season Pass. But after this APXGP situation, I have absolutely no desire to do that anymore. Why should I buy more DLC if premium editions and official add-ons can still leave major expected content locked away?
This kind of content handling destroys trust. It makes me question every future purchase connected to this game. If the most obvious use of APXGP — playing as the team in Career Mode — is not included after buying both the Iconic Edition and the APXGP DLC, then what exactly am I supposed to trust next time?
And when you combine that misleading DLC structure with a Career Mode that still feels repetitive, soulless, and outdated, the disappointment becomes even stronger. I wanted to enjoy this game, invest time in it, and maybe keep buying future content. Instead, I feel tricked, frustrated, and honestly angry.
Bottom line: if you are buying this DLC because you want to race for APXGP in Career Mode, do not buy it. You may end up paying for a few scripted scenarios while the actual team remains unavailable in the mode where it matters most.
And if you expect a deep, atmospheric, emotionally engaging Career Mode, be prepared for the same repetitive lines, the same animations, and the same lifeless presentation over and over again.
Very disappointing. This deserves a negative review.
